How much glow does your event actually need?
A quick way to work out quantities for a fest, wedding or club night before you order, so you don't run out at 10 pm or sit on boxes the next morning.
1 November 2026
Most people order glow by gut feel. They pick a round number, add a bit, and hope. Then the stock runs out before the headliner comes on, or three cartons go back to the warehouse unopened.
Ten minutes with a notepad usually gets you closer.
Start with who gets something
Write down your expected headcount. Then split it by how people will get the product.
- Everyone at the gate: a wristband or glow stick handed out on entry, one per person.
- Some people, at one moment: LED foam sticks for the front of the crowd, confetti for the drop, LED glasses for the bar.
- Sold at a stall: here you're guessing demand, so go easy.
A wedding sangeet and a college fest of the same size need very different orders. At a sangeet nearly every guest gets something. At a fest it's usually the front third of the crowd you're lighting up.
Add a buffer, then round to the pack size
Things break. VIPs want two. Friends turn up uninvited, and the staff take one home for their kids. How much extra you add depends on how bad running out would be. If it's a handout at the gate, running out is embarrassing. If it's a stall, every unsold piece is cash stuck in a box.
Then round up to the pack size. Every product in the catalog shows its pack size and minimum order. If a product comes in packs of 50 and you need 430, you're ordering 450.
A worked example
Say you're planning for 600 people and want every guest to get an LED glow band at the gate. That's 600. Add a buffer of, say, 10% and you're at 660. If the band comes in packs of 50, round up to 700.
Now make it a fest of 600, where you only want foam sticks for the front third. That's 200, or 220 with the same buffer, which becomes 250 in packs of 50. Same headcount, about a third of the order.
The 10% is only an example. Pick the buffer that fits your event.
Check the next price tier
Trade prices on NTH drop as quantity goes up, and each product shows its price ladder. If you're close to the next tier, the cart tells you how many more units it takes. Sometimes the extra units cost less than you'd expect and sometimes they don't, so it's worth a look before you place the order.
Leave time for freight
We quote freight after you order, once we know the weight, the destination and how fast you need it. Put your event date on the order and we plan dispatch backwards from it. The later you order, the fewer shipping options are left, and the fast ones cost more.
Questions we get asked
Can you help me work out quantities?
Yes. Send a quote request with your headcount and the kind of event, and our team will suggest quantities.
What's the smallest quantity I can order?
Each product has a minimum order, which is the smallest quantity we ship for it. You'll find it on the product page next to the pack size.
Is GST included in the price?
No. Prices are shown before GST, and every order comes with a GST invoice.
